Description
Might Mustard Mix is a popular mix for cover crops. We have combined our highest biomass producers to give your soil a total makeover with both soilborne pathogen and weed suppression benefits. White mustard has been used as a cover crop for the control of nematodes. Mustards generally require 8-10 weeks of soil temperatures of 60 degrees F to get satisfactory plant growth and cyst nematode suppression. Mustards are sensitive to cold temperatures, with a winter-killing at about 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Use later maturing varieties for the easier managing. Mighty Mustard bulk seed mix can become a contaminant in future crops if not used properly.
Kodiak, Pacific Gold and White Gold all contain very different glucosinolates. White Gold glucosinolates work to suppress weeds. Kodiak and Pacific Gold glucosinolates are biologically active against insects, some nematodes and fungal pathogens, such as sclerotinia and Verticilium wilt.
